We are now the Chinese Dance Academy Resident Dance Troupe. For more information and contact info, please visit http://www.chinesedanceacademy.org.

The Seattle Sunshine Dance Troupe is a group of Chinese dancers focused on promoting the Chinese culture through the art of Chinese folk dance. The dancers come from various parts of China with different backgrounds. But we all share a passion for one thing, that is DANCE! Dance enriches the lives of those who practice and perform. Dance bridges different cultures through its unique and universal expressions. The Seattle Sunshine Dance Troupe strives to bring different aspects of the Chinese culture to the local community and provide an environment to help dance enthusiasts to realize their potentials.

The Seattle Sunshine Dance Troupe was founded in 2004. It is under the administration of a board of directors of five members. They are all full time employees who dedicate their spare time to support the team in various aspects such as new member enrollment, performance, public relationship, general administration and more. Our artistic director is Mrs. Migali Amuti, a First Rank dancer for China Central Nationality Dance Troupe. She brings over 15 years of teaching and performing experiences to the team. During each weekly training session, Mrs. Amuti teaches basic ballet routines as well as choreographed dance numbers such that team members receive the benefit of both building their skill sets and preparing for public performances.

The Seattle Sunshine Dance Troupe has performed for the communities in Seattle during major cultural events and Chinese holidays such as Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival. The team has grown from initially 8 people to over 20 members now. We are one big happy family. And as our motto goes:

Enjoy Dancing! Enjoy Life!

The Seattle Sunshine Dance Troupe is now an affiliate of the Chinese Dance Academy.
